Bengaluru Weather Forecast: A severe cold wave has gripped Karnataka, with several districts experiencing a sharp drop in minimum temperatures over the last 24 hours. Official data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) showed that several regions have already plunged into single-digit temperatures, with Vijayanagara and Chikkamagaluru recording minimums of 9.7 and 9.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
While the minimum temperature in Bengaluru is currently hovering around 15 degrees Celsius, the city is expected to get even colder within the next 48 hours. The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) has forecast continuation of dry weather across Karnataka, accompanied by morning chill and foggy conditions, with minimum temperatures expected to stay 2-3 degrees below seasonal averages.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a significant dip in temperatures as the mercury is projected to fall 2-3 degrees Celsius below normal over the next 48 hours. Additionally, dry weather conditions are expected to continue across the city, with the possibility of morning fog and mist in low-lying and open areas.
Despite the current winter chill, there is no chance of rain in Bengaluru, with dry weather prevailing across the city throughout the week.
Karnataka Weather Forecast
According to the latest IMD bulletin, Karnataka is expected to experience a prolonged dry spell accompanied by a persistent morning chill and scattered fog, especially in the south interior regions, where minimum temperatures are expected to hover near or slightly below seasonal norms.
However, the Malnad region and districts along the Western Ghats are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall on January 9 and 10, offering a brief respite from the prolonged dry spell.
