Bhabanipur, Nandigram, Panihati Election Results 2026: In a major political twist in West Bengal, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari defeated Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Bhabanipur constituency by a margin of over 15,105 votes. Although Banerjee led in the initial rounds of counting, Adhikari surged ahead after the 16th round and maintained his lead until the end.

He also retained his stronghold in Nandigram, securing victories in both constituencies. Meanwhile, Ratna Debnath, mother of the RG Kar victim and a BJP candidate, won the Panihati seat. In a historic outcome, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to come to power in West Bengal for the first time, bringing an end to the Trinamool Congress’s 15-year rule despite its aggressive campaign.
