Kaushal Kishore Mishra, Bhagalpur: A shocking incident has come to light from Bihar, where a real estate builder was found brutally murdered two days after he went missing.

The body of 48-year-old real estate builder Bajrang Kumar, who had been missing since June 20, was found in his locked office located opposite the Tilka Manjhi police station in Bhagalpur on Thursday. Police have launched an investigation into the mysterious murder after his wife filed a missing complaint.

According to the family, Bajrang, a resident of Neelkanth Nagar, left for work on Tuesday but did not return home. After not being able to trace him, the family informed the police. On Thursday morning, his wife noticed that the office was locked from the outside, but the ceiling fan inside was still running. Suspecting that her husband was inside, she alerted the police. Officers broke open the lock and found Bajrang's body inside the office.

Alcohol Consumed At Night, Naked Body Found In Morning

Alcohol glasses were recovered from the office, indicating that a drinking session had taken place before the murder.

Police believe that consuming alcohol in an office located directly opposite a police station would have been possible only if those present were well acquainted with Bajrang and felt comfortable visiting the premises.

According to reports, Bajrang was first treated to a drinking party before being stripped naked. His throat was slit, four fingers were severed, and his private parts were mutilated in what police suspect was an exceptionally brutal murder.

Despite the gruesome killing, no valuables appeared to have been stolen. The office equipment remained untouched, and Bajrang's motorcycle, parked outside the building, was also left behind, which leads police to believe that the killers' sole motive was to kill him rather than commit robbery.

Bhagalpur SSP Pramod Kumar Yadav said, "The body was found half-naked. Police teams, including the FSL, have collected evidence from the scene, and the exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report and scientific investigation."

What Investigation Revealed

Police found very few signs of a struggle at the crime scene. Bajrang's body was discovered half-naked, with four fingers severed.

Investigators suspect that he may have grabbed the weapon while trying to defend himself, resulting in the loss of his fingers, or that they were deliberately cut off by the attackers. However, police have not made any definitive statement on this aspect of the investigation.

Soon after receiving information about the incident, SSP Pramod Kumar Yadav visited the spot, constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), and directed officers to solve the murder case within 24 hours.

Based on technical evidence and CCTV footage, police have detained two suspects from the Kotwali and Parbati areas and are currently questioning them.

What has raised serious concerns is that such a brutal murder allegedly took place directly opposite a police station without police personnel or passersby noticing anything unusual, prompting questions over the area's security arrangements.

Meanwhile, the deceased's father, Dineshwar Prasad Singh, alleged that despite informing the police about the matter at around 4:15 am, no immediate action was taken. He claimed that his daughter-in-law had also alerted the police about Bajrang's business disputes and named several individuals, but the information was allegedly not taken seriously.

The murder came to light only after police forced open the office door. Investigators are examining multiple angles, including land deals, construction-related disputes, financial transactions, and personal enmity.

Family members and close associates said Bajrang often kept large amounts of cash in his office and frequently travelled with lakhs of rupees on his motorcycle. Police are also investigating whether the assailants took cash or important land-related documents from the office.

However, since his belongings and motorcycle were found untouched, investigators are currently focusing more on the possibility of personal rivalry and the involvement of people known to Bajrang.

Bajrang's wife also alleged that her husband's business rivalry had intensified in recent months. She said she had informed the police about individuals identified as Pankaj, Rupesh, and others but alleged that no timely action was taken.
