Bihar: A woman cop, who accompanied a team of Bihar police to the resolution of a land dispute in Araria district, was shot in the face by an arrow by an unidentified person, leaving her seriously injured on Monday. The incident took place in Pokhariya village when a police team came under attack by local miscreants in the limits of Mahalgaon police station in the early morning today.
According to Hindi news portal Hindustan, the condition of a woman cop is said to be critical as the arrow has pierced her skull. She was transferred to Purnia Max Hospital from the local Araria hospital.
The altercation came as dozens of miscreants started putting bamboo to encroach upon land belonging to the complainant, who had approached the local police. It was when the Mahalgaon police in charge reached the disputed land to deter the encroachers, that they were met with a surprise attack, which led to the serious injury to the woman cop, who was identified as Sub-inspector Nusrat Praveen.
