The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that most parts of Bihar will remain dry on June 3, and heavy rainfall is not likely.
The minimum temperature in several districts on Wednesday was between 1.6 degrees Celsius and 3 degrees Celsius above normal as per IMD's latest weather bulletin. Hence, the nights are expected to remain uneasy for the residents, while some parts are less expected to feel intense daytime heat.
Meanwhile, IMD also predicted that daytime temperatures will rise and the maximum temperature in almost the entire Bihar is expected to rise by two to three degrees Celsius above present values by June 3.
According to forecasters, dry weather will likely lead to harsh heatwave conditions in most parts of Bihar between June 4 and June 6.
Residents have been advised to be cautious as temperatures will further rise in the coming days. Following IMD's alert on a potential heatwave, agrometeorology experts have advised a few precautionary measures for farmers of livestock to avoid distress to animals.
Key recommendations include:
- Availability of adequate, clean and safe drinking water to animals at all times.
- Farmers should spread grass, straw, and other suitable materials on the roof of poultry sheds to avoid high indoor temperatures.
- Farmers should ensure adequate measures are taken to avoid heat distress in the livestock during extended hours of exposure.
Public Advisory
The public has been advised not to venture out in the direct sun during the day hours and to maintain adequate fluid intake.
