CJP Protest Highlights: CJP Vows To Continue Protest Till Dharmendra Pradhan's Resignation; Delhi Police holds High-Level Meeting

CJP Protest LIVE: Delhi Police on Monday evening held a high-level meeting to review the law and order situation, following the clashes between protesters and security personnel in the New Delhi area earlier in the day, sources told news agency PTI.

Senior police officers attended the meeting to assess the situation and discuss the ongoing investigation into the violence, they said.

CJP Protest LIVE: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said, "I think lakhs and lakhs of Indian youth showed up in Delhi today, which means that the youth of this country is pretty much done with this government. We thank them for coming in such large numbers and standing with us, fighting for the cause. At the same time, the visuals we are seeing from across Delhi involving the Delhi Police are deeply concerning. The kind of brutality unleashed by the Delhi Police today has no words. We are still trying to assess the extent of the casualties suffered by our protesters, and we are trying to reach out to them to provide the best legal and medical aid."

Hundreds of people have gathered in Mumbai and Goa in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk and Cockroach Janta Party. Several people were also detained in Mumbai during the protest at Chaitra Bhoomi in Sivaji Park.  

CJP founder Abhijit Dipke on Monday invited more people to join their agitation at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi and declared that the protest won't stop until the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.

"The BJP had sent goons to infiltrate the protest and tried to create mischief today. CJP and its protesters have a track record of peaceful protests. Young students were assaulted by the Police to send a message - never dare to raise your voice again," he said while addressing the protesters at Jantar Mantar.

"We still haven’t heard from the government on our demands. We are still waiting. The protest is continuing at Jantar Mantar (outside Kerala House) in the meanwhile," CJP Spokesperson Saurav Das said after meeting JP Nadda.

CJP's protest site was dismantled by the police on Monday, hours after protesters' march to Parliament was thwarted with tear gas and baton charges. Protesters, however, regrouped at Jantar Mantar after the march. One of their leaders said they will stay put.

The stage where activist Sonam Wangchuk observed his hunger strike stood dismantled, with trampolines, carpets, mattresses and other materials removed. A protester said one of the group's key demands had been met after a CJP delegation held talks with Union Minister JP Nadda. He, however, said the agitation will continue till Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.

Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike since June 27, on Monday clarified that he has not ended his strike and will continue it further. In a letter shared on his official X account, Wangchuk resolved that he will continue his fast, seeing the police brutality against the youth of the country.

Videos shared on social media showed destruction and vandalised police vehicles after clashes broke out between the police and protesters during the CJP's Sansad Chalo march today. At least 50 police personnel sustained injuries, while several protesters were also injured in the clashes.

CJP Protest LIVE: Delhi Police Additional CP/PRO, Rajeev Ranjan, in a video message, urged protestors to maintain peace and refrain from indulging in any unlawful or violent activities. He also advised citizens "not to believe or circulate rumours, misinformation or unverified content through any platform. Citizens are requested to rely only on authentic sources of information and extend their cooperation to Delhi Police in maintaining peace, harmony and public order."

"This morning, for the first time, a proposal came from the protesters to hold talks with the government, and our discussions have been ongoing since 11:50 AM. The meeting took place in a cordial atmosphere. An initial verbal discussion was held in detail with their delegation, and they submitted a written petition to me around 4 PM. I have requested all the protesters to end their sit-in and assist the administration in restoring normalcy," JP Nadda said in a post on X.

The Delhi Police on Monday denied reports circulating on social media claiming that CJP founder Abhijit Dipke had been detained, terming them "entirely false".

In a post on X, the police said, "Misleading reports are currently circulating on various social media platforms claiming that Abhijit Dipke has been detained by the Delhi Police. It is formally clarified that these allegations are entirely false and he is available on stage."

CJP Spokesperson Saurav Das claimed that JP Nadda has assured the CJP representatives regarding their demands. "The Minister assured us he will discuss this at the appropriate level. However, no commitments have been made so far. The peaceful protesters will not rest until the demand is met," Das wrote on X.

CJP representative Ashutosh Ranka claimed that Union Health Minister JP Nadda has requested some time to align with the BJP leadership regarding the demands of the CJP. In an X post, Ranka noted that the three demands include the discharge of activist Sonam Wangchuk, the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from the position of Union Education Minister, and compensation of Rs 1 crore for all the NEET-UG 2026 aspirants who died by suicide.

Visuals shared on social media showed fierce police action on protesters near Patel Chowk during their march to Parliament. Police lathi-charged the protesters at many locations, including Jantar Mantar, RBI HQ, and Rail Bhawan, in a bid to stop CJP's Sansad Chalo march.

The CJP protesters have alleged that current was used in the barricading, due to which they received a very strong electric shock. 

The CJP protesters at Jantar Mantar have alleged that the Delhi police have deployed personnels without name badges, accusing the police of fierce action against them. Videos shared on social media showed police personnel baton-charging the protesters near the Sansad Bhawan.

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi on CJP protest says, "There are problems; there are massive issues. Tell us, you are not even ready to discuss them, but you are firing tear gas at children and beating them up? For what? These are our children."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah met Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday, as thousands tried to march to Parliament as part of the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest call to demand the latter's resignation over alleged examination irregularities. Officials said Shah met Pradhan at his office in the Parliament House complex. It was not immediately known what transpired in the meeting.

The CJP, led by its founder Abhijeet Dipke, has been protesting at Jantar Mantar since June 20, demanding Pradhan's resignation over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and demanding reforms in the examination system and justice for the affected students. The outfit had given the call for the "Chalo Sansad" march on Monday, the opening day of Parliament's Monsoon session.

CJP Spokesperson Saurav Das has claimed that the Delhi Police has detained Abhijit Dipke and alleged that the police has intensified its crackdown on the protesters. 

Union Minister JP Nadda met the CJP delegation on Monday amid massive protests and a march to Parliament. According to CJP Spokesperson Saurav Das, he met Nadda along with Ashutosh Ranka. Nadda has assured the delegation that he will "talk internally" with the government regarding the demands of the protesters. 

Hours after denying any coercive action against the protesters, the Delhi police fired tear gas shells at the marching protesters near the Shastri Bhawan to disperse the crowd. Delhi police also lathi-charged the protesters near the RBI HQ amid their march to Parliament. 

Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav, along with other MPs, reached Jantar Mantar to take part in CJP's Sansad Chalo March. 

The CJP protesters again faced lathi charge by police near the RBI headquarters in Lutyens Delhi. The protesters are marching towards the Parliament today, seeking accountability in the NEET paper leak issue. The CJP is demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia joins CJP protest. He says, "These are the youth PM Modi talks about. Now, they are on the streets, it's time to listen."

As the CJP's march protest swells, a multi-tiered security lockdown has been put in place to prevent the thousands of marching protesters from breaching the area. Security personnel physically secured the massive iron gates of the Parliament complex. Red fire tenders and emergency water response vehicles are strategically positioned directly inside the gates.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left the Parliament on Monday amid repeated adjournments in the house proceedings and ongoing Sansad Chalo March by Cockroach Janta Party.  

The gates of Parliament have been closed by the security personnel as CJP protesters continue their Sansad Chalo march. According to a report by AajTak, the protesters have reached Rail Bhawan. A meeting of the CJP delegation is scheduled with Union Minister JP Nadda soon.

"The government is accountable to its citizens; it has played with the future of students, Dharmendra Pradhan must resign," CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat said as she joined CJP protesters at Jantar Mantar. 

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke on Monday ended his indefinite hunger strike, which he began on Saturday after the Delhi police removed Sonam Wangchuk from the protest site and shifted him to the Safdarjung hospital in Delhi. This came after the CJP leaders are scheduled to meet Union Minister JP Nadda today over their demands.   

A video shared by news agency PTI shows Delhi police detaining protesters near Parliament Street. The Delhi police had earlier denied allegations of detaining protesters. Around 10-15 protesters were said to have been detained after protesters attempted to push through multiple barricades erected in the high-security zone. A scuffle-like situation ensued, in which some protesters and police personnel sustained minor injuries.

- CJP Spokesperson Saurav Das has been taken to the office of the Deputy Commissioner for talks with the government. "We are in talks with the Government," Das said. He is expected to meet Union Minister JP Nadda.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court Division Bench led by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay and Justice Tejas Karia has agreed to hear today at 2:30 PM the appeal filed by Sonam Wangchuk's wife, Dr Gitanjali Angmo, challenging the Single Judge’s refusal to shift him from Safdarjung Hospital to a private hospital of his choice.

Delhi Police resorted to a lathi charge to disperse hundreds of protesters attempting to march toward the Parliament House. Several personnel from the Rapid Action Force are stationed nearby to address both the CJP protest march and the upcoming session.
