Barapullah Phase-3 Elevated Corridor: The much-anticipated Barapullah Phase-3 elevated corridor project, which aims to make travel between East Delhi and South Delhi signal-free and seamless, is now in its final stages. This project of the Delhi government is expected to be completed between June 30 and July 31, reducing the journey from Mayur Vihar Phase-1 to AIIMS to just 20 minutes.
Currently, it takes 40-50 minutes to travel from Mayur Vihar to AIIMS via Sarai Kale Khan or DND, but with the opening of Barapullah Phase-3, millions of commuters will have easier access and easier travel. This corridor will connect Mayur Vihar Phase-1 directly to Sarai Kale Khan.

-There will be reduction in traffic congestion on Kharai Kale Khan, Ring Road, DND Flyover and NH-24.
Anti-Corruption Branch Investigation Underway
The Delhi government has taken a tough stand on the project's delays and cost overruns, ordering an Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) investigation. The government is insisting that the remaining work be completed by June 30th without further delay.
However, the government has clarified that the investigation will not impact the project's progress. When work began on the project in 2015, its cost was Rs 964 crore, which has now risen to Rs 1635 crore.

Over 98 per cent of the project is complete, with the remaining work primarily involving final structural joinery and finishing touches. Girder placement on 16 pillars remains.
The Public Works Department has begun road construction on the completed section. The government has also released the remaining Rs 200 crore for the project. Work is now progressing rapidly.
