The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced a major operational expansion aimed at improving passenger convenience, easing crowd pressure and promoting sustainable public transport across the national capital.

As part of the revised plan coming into effect from May 18, 2026, DMRC will operate 24 additional train trips every Monday through the deployment of six extra metro trains. The move comes amid rising passenger numbers and increasing dependence on road transport.
