New Delhi: Heavy rain lashed the national capital and the adjoining Noida region on Wednesday morning, bringing some respite from the heat. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital is expected to receive more rain accompanied by strong surface winds for the next couple of days.
It noted that the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 32 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively.
IGI's passenger advisory for July 22
As rains continue to lash the national capital and surrounding region, the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi has issued a travel advisory. According to an update released on Wednesday morning, flight operations at the airport remain normal, with ground teams actively coordinating with stakeholders to ensure smooth travel for passengers.

Delhi monsoon returns after a long break
Monsoonal rains over the past few days have brought welcome relief to Delhi, significantly taking the edge off the hot, humid weather. According to the India Meteorological Department, maximum temperatures across the capital dropped well below seasonal averages on Tuesday.
Safdarjung recorded a peak temperature of 31.2°C (3.7 notches below normal), while Palam registered 30.7°C (4.2 notches below normal) and Lodhi Road logged 31.1°C (2.9 notches below normal). Meanwhile, Ridge settled at 30.9°C (3.1 notches below normal), and Ayanagar recorded the steepest drop at 29.4°C, a notable 5.4 notches below normal.
The weatherman forecast more rain accompanied by strong surface winds over the next three days.
