Delhi Rain Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the residents of Delhi-NCR will continue to witness light to moderate rain in the first week of April. The weather department stated that the capital city will receive rain at least till April 9 due to the formation of two western disturbances. The continuous rainfall is likely to drop the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly.
Delhi-NCR Weather Update
The residents of Delhi and nearby cities are set to witness light to moderate rain for the next few days, the weather department informed. Along with rain, these regions are also likely to experience lightning, thunderstorms, and strong surface winds. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 16.8 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, 2 degrees below normal.
Apart from this, the maximum temperature stood at 33.5 degrees Celsius, 0.5 degrees below normal. However, the IMD clarified that the temperature is likely to surge after April 10. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in multiple regions, leading to inconvenience to the commuters. The weather department has advised the residents to limit their outdoor activities to ensure safety.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the IMD stated that the northern states are set to witness heavy rain on April 3 and 4 due to western disturbance. It also stated that several regions of Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh will also witness hailstorms along with rainfall.
"Under the influence of two active Western Disturbances, a wet spell is set to continue across Northwest India this week, with peak activity expected on 3rd & 4th April 2026. Plan your travel and outdoor activities accordingly. Stay safe and keep updated with official weather advisories," it said in the post.
