A day after a blast in Delhi's Prashant Vihar, a private school in Rohini received a bomb threat via email on Friday, PTI reported, citing Delhi Fire Service officials. However, the officials stated that the threat was later declared a hoax following a thorough search of the school campus.
An official said that the school informed the police immediately after they received the bomb threat. He stated that a call was received from the police regarding the bomb threat email at 10.57 am and a team of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) reached the spot immediately after getting the information.
The official added that police, bomb disposal squad, and dog squad, along with DFS personnel, checked the entire premises of the school but found nothing suspicious. He stated that the threat was declared a hoax after nothing objectionable was found in the school. However, the police have launched an investigation into the matter and have registered the statement from the school authorities.
Earlier on Thursday, an explosion was reported near PVR in the Prashant Vihar area in Delhi. The officials added that one person got injured in the explosion and the probe into the matter was on.
