Delhi-Sonipat Road Accident: A multi-vehicle collision occurred on the Delhi-Sonipat road near Bahalgarh in Haryana’s Sonipat district early Tuesday morning as dense fog severely impacted visibility across the region.
According to news agency ANI, the accident occurred during the early hours when a thick blanket of fog significantly reduced visibility. The incident left at least one to two people injured.
Eyewitnesses Recall Multi-Vehicle Collision, Says ‘Unfolded In Stages’
Speaking to ANI, eyewitnesses stated that the multi-vehicle collision on the Delhi-Sonipat road unfolded in stages due to dense fog across the region. An eyewitness said that the incident occurred after one vehicle first rammed into another vehicle.
“First, one car hit another car. Then, one of the cars drove away, and the other remained stationary and damaged. A little while later, another car came and hit the damaged car from behind. In total, three cars were involved in the collision," the eyewitness told ANI.
Another eyewitness further elaborated the sequence of events, stating that one of the vehicles involved in the initial collision had already fled the scene. “One of the cars involved in the incident has already gone. Because of this, the cars collided. One to two people are wounded in this," ANI quoted another eyewitness as saying.
Officials have not yet released the identities of those injured or specific details regarding the severity of the collision. At least one or two people are feared injured. The incident occurred as a thick blanket of fog enveloped Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Tuesday morning.

A blanket of dense fog shrouded the national capital on Tuesday morning, with visibility plunging to near-zero levels in several areas, such as the Dwarka Expressway, Dhaula Kuan, and the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
In view of the adverse weather conditions, the India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for dense fog, warning residents of reduced visibility over the coming days. According to the latest forecast, moderate to dense fog is expected to linger during the morning hours, with very dense fog likely at isolated places.
