Delhi Traffic Alert: In a major update for the residents of Delhi, the vehicular movement around Azadpur Mandi will remain affected due to drainage excavation and construction work till July 15. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Delhi Traffic Police advised the residents to avoid the affected stretch on the GT Karnal Road. It further asked them to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
In its post, the authority advised the commuters to maximise the use of public transportation and follow the traffic rules for a smooth commute. "Motorists are requested to avoid the affected stretch on GT Karnal Road, follow the suggested diversion routes, plan their journeys in advance, and use public transport wherever possible. Please cooperate with traffic personnel deployed on the ground and follow traffic rules for a safe and smooth commute," the traffic police said in its post.
As per the advisory, the restrictions will remain in force daily from 6 AM to facilitate the construction work near Azadpur Mandi. The traffic police informed that the vehicular movement will remain affected on GT Karnal Road between Mahendra Park and Adarsh Nagar Metro Station due to the ongoing construction work. The traffic police pointed out that congestion is expected in several regions, including Azadpur Mandi, Adarsh Nagar, Mahendra Park, and Mukarba Chowk.
What Are The Alternative Routes?
The commuters coming from Mukarba Chowk Bypass towards Azadpur are advised to use Outer Ring Road towards Mukundpur and travel via Arihant Marg. Apart from this, the residents travelling from Jahangirpuri towards Adarsh Nagar have been advised to use Shahalam Bandh Road and proceed through Road Number 51 to avoid any inconveniences.
The traffic police have advised the motorists to avoid the congested roads, especially during the peak hours, to save time.
