Delhi Weather Today: Heavy rain lashed parts of Delhi-NCR early Friday morning, triggering severe waterlogging and traffic congestion across the national capital. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall during the day.
Delhi is expected to witness another spell of intense rainfall on July 10, a day after heavy showers flooded roads, uprooted trees and disrupted traffic across the city. Torrential rain led to widespread waterlogging in several neighbourhoods, causing major traffic snarls and making commuting difficult. A yellow alert has been placed for July 11 for all districts.
Roads in Badarpur and Burari were submerged, while Alipur witnessed severe flooding, with several vehicles partially inundated and residents forced to wade through waist-deep water.
Despite the disruption, the rainfall brought significant relief from the heat, with Delhi recording its cleanest air in nearly three years.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall at many places on Friday, with isolated spells of moderate to heavy showers. Occasional thunderstorms are also expected, particularly during the morning and forenoon.
The sky is expected to remain generally cloudy throughout the day. The maximum temperature is likely to settle between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to range between 24 and 26 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has also issued a red alert for parts of western Uttar Pradesh, forecasting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours as intensified monsoon activity has claimed at least seven lives and disrupted normal life across the state.
Trees uprooted, power outages and traffic snarls reported across Delhi
Following the heavy rainfall, the Delhi Fire Service received multiple calls about trees being uprooted across the city.
Two trees fell on Raja Dhir Singh Marg in East of Kailash, while separate incidents were reported on Guru Ravidas Marg in the Kalkaji-Govindpuri area and on Dhingra Marg. A large tree also collapsed onto a parked car in Ranjeet Nagar.
Meanwhile, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) received 26 complaints related to power outages in areas under its jurisdiction.
Waterlogging was reported from several parts of the city, including Vikas Marg in East Delhi, Sangam Vihar, the New Delhi Railway Station area, Munirka, Sadar Bazar, Alipur, Burari, Badarpur and Dwarka, among other locations.
Several trucks and cars were partially submerged in Alipur due to the flooding. Traffic movement was severely affected at ITO, Rohtak Road, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, NH-48, Ring Road, Punjabi Bagh and Shadipur, leading to long delays for commuters.
