Jagran Correspondent, Rampur: Due to the heavy influx of Shiva devotees on the fourth and final Monday of Sawan, a zero-traffic plan has been implemented on the Delhi-Lucknow highway (NH-24). Movement for both heavy and light vehicles is completely banned, with traffic being redirected via alternate routes.

The zero-traffic plan was implemented on the bypass from Kosi Bridge to Shahjahannagar at 12:00 PM on Saturday, while city stretches from Ambedkar Park to Panwadiya were blocked starting Friday night. These diversions will remain in effect until 'Jalabhishek' on Monday.

Route Diversion Plan For Delhi-Bound Vehicles

- Under the route diversion system, vehicles heading from Bareilly to Delhi via Rampur are being redirected from Amla, Shahbad, Saifni, Bilari, Hazratnagargarhi, Sirsi, and Chaudhary Sarai Chowki Sambhal to Khirni Cut Ganga Expressway.

- Vehicles travelling from Mirganj to Delhi are being diverted from the Milk Teen Batti intersection via Patwai, Shahbad, Saifni, Bilari, Hazratnagargarhi, Sirsi, and Chaudhary Sarai Chowki Sambhal to Khirni Cut Ganga Expressway.

- Vehicles from Rampur to Delhi are being diverted via the Ajitpur bypass bridge through Patwai, Shahbad, and Saifni.

- Additionally, vehicles travelling from Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) to Delhi via Rampur are being directed to Shahjahannagar Bypass Zero Point instead of entering the city via the Koyla/Koyali Cut. From there, they are being diverted via the Ajitpur Bypass Bridge onto the Shahbad, Saifni Ganga Expressway.

These route diversions will remain in place until 8 PM on Monday.

Police Personnel Deployed At Diversion Points

Route diversion points have been set up along the highway with police personnel deployed at all key locations, including the bypass from Kosi Bridge to Ajitpur, Shahjahannagar Zero Point, Ambedkar Park, Civil Lines Police Station, and the Goods Depot intersection.

Additional Superintendent of Police Anurag Singh inspected all the points late Friday night and instructed officers to strictly restrict all vehicles, including cars and e-rickshaws, to ensure smooth movement for the Kanwariyas.
