Eid-Ul-Fitr 2025 Date And Time In India: As the holy month of Ramadan comes to an end, Muslims around the world are preparing to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. The festival, which marks the conclusion of fasting, will be observed in most Gulf countries on Sunday, March 30.
According to Saudi Arabian authorities, the crescent moon of Shawwal was sighted on Saturday, March 29, 2025, confirming that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in the Kingdom on Sunday. Following the usual pattern, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are expected to observe Eid a day later, making Monday, March 31, 2025, the likely date for celebrations in these countries.
Similarly, the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs in Qatar announced on Saturday evening that the moon had been sighted, confirming that Eid will be celebrated on Sunday, March 30. The UAE's Moon Sighting Committee also declared the same date for Eid.
Since India traditionally follows Saudi Arabia’s moon sighting, Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 in India is expected to fall on Monday, March 31. However, the final confirmation will come from the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which determines the official Eid date in India. The committee is expected to make its announcement on Sunday evening.
Shawwal is the 10th and the corresponding month after the holy month of Ramadan in the Hijri calendar (Islamic calendar) and marks the end of fasting. Eid-Ul-Fitr is observed on the first day of Shawwal month.
