Air India suspends all flights operations to and from Tel Aviv till May 25, 2025, as tensions between India and Pakistan rise. "Our flights to and from Tel Aviv will remain suspended till 25th May 2025. Customers holding valid tickets for travel till 25th May 2025 will be offered a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges or a full refund for cancellations," it says.

Airport closures have been extended from May 10 to May 15. Civilian flights have been cancelled in the below mentioned airports:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting to review the border situation and security at airports across the country. The meeting was attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Daljit Chawdhary, Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) RS Bhatti, and Director General of Bureau of Civil Aviation (BCAS) Rajesh Nirwan were present.

IndiGo cancels flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, and Rajkot have been cancelled until midnight of May 10, 2025.

Mumbai Air Traffic Control (ATC) experiences a surge in traffic, after international flights are rerouted due to the closure of Pakistani airspace since last month, news agency PTI reports, citing sources.

Delhi flights cancelled today: As many as 138 flights to and from are cancelled amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. The IGI airport also tightened its security measures as the country remains on high alert following drone attack by Pakistan on Thursday evening.

The Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Uttar Pradesh's Lukcnow has issued an important advisory for passengers amid the rising tension between India and Pakistan.

In Gujarata, airports in seven cities have been shut down. These include airports of Jamnagar, Rajkot (Hirasar), Porbandar, Keshod, Kandla, Bhuj and Mundra (Adani).

Six flights from Patna's Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport have been cancelled until Sunday as India-Pakistan tensions rise. The cancelled flights include four Indigo flights and two Air India Express services. The routes affected include:
- Patna to Bhubaneswar
- Patna to Chandigarh
- Patna to Hindon (Ghaziabad)

Bengaluru airport or the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) advices passengers to reach the airport at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flights. The advisory was issued as delays were expected due to enhanced security checks. "In view of the nationwide heightened security alert, enhanced screening measures are in place across all airports. Passengers are advised to arrive at least three hours prior to departure to allow for a smooth check-in, security and boarding experience," the advisory said.

The operations of Shri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport in Amritsar have been suspended till further orders. The security has been heightened outside the airport. ACP Airport, Amritsar, Yadwinder Singh said, "There is adequate security at the airport. Only airport personnel are allowed inside. Police are continuously patrolling. The villagers have been made aware of protocols to be followed."

Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport is not closed. "Delhi Airport operations remain normal. However, some flight schedules may be impacted due to evolving airspace conditions and heightened security measures," DIAL says in a post on Friday.

Airlines have asked passengers to reach airport three hours before departure of domestic flights in the wake of stepping up of checks and other security measures at the airports.

All passengers will go through a Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC), often known as pre-boarding inspections, at all airports. Vehicles will be carefully examined at all airport terminals, IDs will be checked before admittance, and passenger luggage will be scrutinised at random.

The Civil Aviation Ministry says 24 airports across India have been temporarily closed. The duration of the closure is yet to be announced. Several Indian airlines issue travel advisories and urge flyers to plan their trips accordingly. The passengers are also requested to cooperate with the enhanced security checks.

Delhi Airport operations remain normal, the IGI airport authority says in its travel advisory. Some flights are impacted due to changing airspace conditions and heightened security. Passengers are advised to check with their airline for the latest updates.

The Ministry of Defence posts on X, "Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin drones and missiles along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir today. The threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). No casualties or material losses were reported."

The ministry assured the people that India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people.

After the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security sounded high alert across all airports in India, SpiceJet has issued a travel advisory. "In light of enhanced security measures across all airports, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure to ensure a smooth check-in and boarding process," the airlines says.

IndiGo issues travel advisory: "In these extraordinary times, heightened security measures are taken up across all airports. We request you to allow some extra time for your journey to accommodate security checks and formalities. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation."

Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) instructed all airlines and airports across the country to enhance security measures. All passengers at all airports will undergo Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC). Visitor entry to terminal buildings has been banned. Two flights from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar were cancelled today. "The cancelled flights include one to Hindon in Ghaziabad and another to Chandigarh via Patna," BPIA director Prasanna Pradhan said.

As many as 100 flights to and from Delhi's IGI airport were cancelled after 27 airports across the country were closed due to airspace restrictions amid India-Pakistan tensions. Among these are 79 domestic flights and 11 international flights.

IndiGo flights to Almaty and Tashkent have been suspended till June 14 due to constraints in aircraft operational range.

The Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), which operates IGI airport, says it is working closely with all stakeholders to minimise any disruptions to flight schedules. "All operations across Delhi Airport's terminals and its four runways are proceeding as usual. However, changing airspace conditions have impacted some flights," DIAL said in a post on X.

As many as 90 flights to and from Delhi's IGI airport have been cancelled today, news agency PTI reports citing sources. These flight cancellations include 46 domestic departures, 33 arrivals, five international departures and six international arrivals. The cancellations occurred between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM.

29 flights to and from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru were affected on Wednesday after Operation Sindoor. The KIA issued a passenger advisory, saying flights to and from the affected regions have been suspended or rerouted, leading to widespread disruptions in air traffic schedules.

The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines expresses concern over the impact of India-Pakistan conflict on airline operations. "Apart from cost and operational disruption, there are safety concerns as GPS spoofing interfering with flight operations over conflict zones is one of the highest risks the industry faces," it says. GPS spoofing is the technique used to manipulate Global Positioning System (GPS) data, which can send commercial airliners off course. - Reuters

United Airlines and Korean Air re-routed or cancelled flights as Indian airports shut down yesterday. Korean Air said it had begun rerouting its Seoul Incheon Dubai flights on Wednesday, opting for a southern route that passes over Myanmar, Bangladesh and India, instead of the previous path through Pakistani airspace. United Airlines said it had cancelled its flight to Delhi, citing in part "airspace limitations". The US airline operates one direct flight from Newark to New Delhi.

American Airlines said it made adjustments to its operations to New Delhi and would allow customers impacted by the changes to change their plans without charge. Flights from India to Europe were also seen taking longer routes. Lufthansa flight LH761 from Delhi to Frankfurt took about half an hour more to reach its destination compared to Tuesday, according to FlightRadar24. - Reuters

As flight services to and from Leh airport in Ladakh were halted on May 7, several tourists were left stranded in the city. The hoteliers in Ladakh announced that they will continue to host the tourists for free.

Akasa Air issues helpline for flyers. "For any further assistance please feel free to contact our 24x7 Akasa Care Centre on +91 9606 112131 and our teams will be happy to assist you," it says in a post on X.

"Continuing our efforts to provide support to our customers and accommodate their travel plan changes, we are extending full waiver of change and cancellation fees for travel to/from Srinagar until 22nd May 2025, for bookings made on or before 22nd April 2025," says IndiGo in a post on X.

Air India, which is facing high call volumes after cancellation of flights, assures of complete assistance to flyers seeking refund and rescheduling of tickets. "While all our representatives are actively assisting customers, in some cases it may take longer than expected to connect. Please rest assured, we are here to support you."

Air India is offering full refund on cancellations and a one-time waiver on rescheduling charges. "This is valid for tickets booked on the impacted flights until 10th May, 2025," the airlines says. 

SpiceJet flights to Jammu, Srinagar, Dharamshala, Leh, Amritsar, Kandla, among several other airports are cancelled. Flyers can call SpiceJet helpline number 0124-4983410 for rescheduling flight bookings or seeking refund on cancellations.

IndiGo cancels flights from and to several cities across north, northwestern and central India till May 10. The airline issues advisory for passengers to check the status of flights through their website. IndiGo has shared links for passengers to check their flight status, rebook tickets or seek refunds for the cancelled flights. IndiGo helpline number is 0124-6173838.

Air India cancels flights to and from several airports which have been closed across the country. Flights to and from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport were affected after Indian armed forces' Operation Sindoor against Pakistani terrorist camps. While the operations of Delhi Airport and airspace in the national capital have not been restricted, some flights were cancelled and others faced delays due to the shutdown of other airports. As many as 22 flights were cancelled while 122 others were delayed on Wednesday, according to a report by jagran.com. 

Flights between Delhi's IGI airport and these cities - Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Kangra, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Kishangarh, Bhuj, Jamnagar and Rajkot - were canceled till the morning of May 10.

Air India announces full refunds on cancellations and a one-time waiver on rescheduling for defence personnel. The offers can be availed by those who have booked defence fare tickets booked on Air India and Air India Express flights. The refunds and waivers will be valid till May 31, 2025. The airlines issues statement on X, saying, "Air India group is grateful for the selfless service and dedication of our military and defence personnel."

The Indian Army carried out strikes in Pakistan on Wednesday, between 1.05 AM and 1.30 AM, killing at least 100 terrorists, according to news agency PTI. The Indian armed forces deployed 24 missiles to strike terrorist facilities, including Lashkar-e-Taiba's headquarters in Muridke and terror training sites in Bahawalpur. In its statement on Operation Sindoor, the Union Ministry of Defence emphasised that the military action was not escalatory, but a restrained and proportionate response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. "No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution," it said.

As many as 437 flights have been cancelled so far as airports close after India conducted 'Operation Sindoor' against LeT and JeM terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK) past midnight on May 7. The Indian armed forces in a joint operation carried out precision strikes against nine terror facilities, which harboured terrorist behind the deadly Pahalgam attack which claimed 26 innocent lives.
