Ghaziabad News: In a major revelation into the murder of a retired Air Force officer in Ghaziabad, the police on Thursday said that the sons of the deceased had killed him. According to the police, the victim’s sons orchestrated his murder for property and hired two gunmen, including a police constable, for the same.
The shocking details came five days after the 58-year-old Yogesh, a retired IAF employee and a native of Baghpat district, was shot dead by two bike-borne assailants on December 26, as he was on his way back to his residence in Ashok Vihar Colony in the Loni area.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Loni Siddhartha Gautam, the victim had been asking his sons to vacate his home, following which, his son allegedly got him killed for property.
To remove their father from the scene, the sons allegedly hired a neighbour, Arvind (32), as a contract killer. Arvind, along with his brother-in-law Naveen, a constable posted in Kaushambi district, who carried out the shooting, police said.
"During interrogation, Arvind confessed that he and Naveen fired two shots at Yogesh, causing his death," the ACP said.
The police arrested Arvind on Wednesday evening and produced him before the chief judicial magistrate's court in Ghaziabad on Thursday. The murderer has been sent to 14-day judicial custody. Police have also recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol, two live cartridges and used cartridges were recovered from his possession.

The constable Naveen and the two sons of the victim are absconding, and efforts are being made to arrest them. Further investigation is underway.
