As temperatures continue to rise sharply, residents of the Trans-Hindon, Ghaziabad, are facing growing difficulties in accessing drinking water. Locals allege that the supply has become irregular, forcing many households to rely on bottled water. On Tuesday, complaints of water shortage were reported from Maharajpur, Rajendranagar, and Arthala.

According to residents, the water supply is highly inconsistent during the summer season. Arthala resident Ramniwas said that water is sometimes supplied briefly and then cut off without warning. On Tuesday as well, the supply reportedly lasted only around 15 minutes, leaving households without adequate storage.

Low water pressure concerns

Residents of Maharajpur, including Kaushal Kishore, said that low water pressure remains a major issue. In summer, water is supplied only for a limited duration and often returns the next day. Locals also allege that repeated complaints to municipal authorities have gone unheard.

Residents of Vaishali and Indirapuram have also raised concerns regarding the Ganga water supply. They said that weekly interruptions are often communicated through mobile alerts stating that the water plant supply has been stopped, leading to further disruption in distribution.

Ghaziabad Weather

According to the latest IMD conditions, Ghaziabad is under a difficult heatwave-like situation, with temperatures staying in the 43-45 degrees Celsius range. The weather remains hot, hazy, and stressful, with very high daytime heat and warm nights.

IMD indicates:

  • Heatwave conditions persist over Northwest India
  • Very high UV and dry winds are increasing discomfort
  • Relief is likely only after May 29, when thunderstorms and a slight temperature drop are expected in the region

KP Anand, General Manager of the municipal water supply department, said that teams will be deployed in the affected areas to address complaints and resolve the issues. Authorities have assured corrective action following repeated public grievances.
