Luthra Brothers Deportation:  Deportation of the Luthra brothers, owners of Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub, where fire claimed 25 lives, is reportedly expected to be delayed as the final decision regarding the deportation is yet to be made. The Goa police were likely to get their custody early next week.

Quoting a spokesperson for Thai Immigration, the New18 reported that deportation is expected to be delayed as the ‘process is pending approval from the Commander authority’.

“Currently, they are in the process of preparing for deportation. The process is pending approval from the Commander authority, and the date, time, and flight details for their return have not been confirmed yet," a Thai immigration spokesperson, Pol Maj Gen Choengrong Rimphadee, was quoted as saying by the report.

Luthra Brothers Detained In Thailand Under Immigration Act

The Luthra brothers, Gaurav and Saurav, were detained under section 12(7) of the Immigration Act of Thailand after an Interpol Blue Notice and a warrant was served by the Goa police. The Thai spokesperson further said, “On 11 December 2025, Phuket Immigration arrested two Indian nationals, Mr Saurabh Luthra, Indian national, Passport No. Z7678521 and Mr Gaurav Luthra, Indian national, Passport No. X6662478. They were arrested under Section 12(7) of the Immigration Act as subjects of an INTERPOL Blue Notice.”

Luthra Brothers Fle To Thailand Within Hours Of Club Fire

The Luthra brothers, who were attending a wedding function in Delhi, when a catastrophic fire in their Arpora nightclub, fled from the country within hours of the blaze. The fire at Birch by Romeo Lane killed 25 people, including 20 club staff and 5 tourists.

The incident occurred in a nightclub situated in the Arpora region of Goa, last Saturday, around 11:45 pm, killing 25 and injuring 6 others.

Luthra Brothers Used Fake Land Agreement

Earlier, police revealed that the owner brothers used a forged land agreement to get permission to build the nightclub. Entrepreneurs Suarav Luthra and Gaurav Luthra submitted a forged copy of the land agreement to get permission to open their club in Goa’s Arpora.
