The Food Safety Department has intensified its focus on the quality of both branded and locally manufactured energy drinks being sold in Noida. Following government instructions, the department has launched the district’s first comprehensive testing drive to assess the safety and quality standards of these beverages.
As per jagran.com, officials said the move comes amid a sharp rise in energy drink consumption among college students and young people over the past few years. Concerns have also grown over several companies introducing products into the market without adequate standardised testing.

How Will The Investigation Be Done?
Food Safety Department teams are collecting samples of branded and local energy drinks from malls, grocery stores, and wholesale markets across the district. All samples will be sent to an accredited lab in Mumbai for testing. They will check for caffeine content, sugar levels, taurine, glucuronolactone, and other harmful chemicals. Products found in concentrations exceeding the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) standards will be deemed unsafe.
Strict Action To Be Taken Against Concerned Sellers, Manufacturing Companies
The department has launched a two-day sampling campaign. Upon receiving the report, if adulteration or caffeine and sugar levels exceeding the prescribed limit are found, action will be taken against the seller and manufacturing company concerned.
