Guntur News:  In a startling incident, residents of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, grabbed illegal liquor bottles as the police were destroying them. Authorities were present at the site, which was a dumping yard on Etukuru Road.

They were attempting to dispose of around 24,000 illicit liquor bottles valued at Rs 50 lakh that had been seized in many instances.

Scores of individuals, unable to resist the temptation, lined up for disposal, rushed in, grabbed as many bottles as they could, and escaped, all in front of police officers.

The cops could not stop the mob that soon assembled and took the bottles. Officers sought to carry out the destruction procedure as the scenario unfolded.

Disposing of the alcohol confiscated during the concurrent Assembly and Lok Sabha elections was the district police's goal. SP Sathish Kumar was in charge of the drive, which was taking place at the Nallacheruvu dumping ground.

The police usually smash confiscated alcohol bottles with a road roller, but this time they purchased a proclainer, which caused the traffic to slow down. The alcohol addicts stormed in and took the bottles as soon as the senior authorities departed. Social media users are sharing the incident's videos at large.

It was evident that the cops were attempting to subdue the crowd and stop them from stealing the bottles.

Following the event, several citizens have expressed worries about the security of such operations and the rising desperation of some individuals in the state as a result of the crackdown on illicit booze.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident and discussing methods to prevent similar incidents in future alcohol destruction operations.
