Guwahati Airport New Terminal: The new terminal at Guwahati Airport is set to commence operations on February 22, with the first flight scheduled to depart from the facility on that same day.
This state-of-the-art terminal boasts a range of advanced features, including full-body scanners for quicker security checks, an Automated Baggage Handling System, an Automated Tray Retrieval System (ATRS), and Fast Track Immigration (FTI-TTP) for more efficient clearance procedures.
With an investment of approximately Rs 4,000 crore, the terminal has been designed to accommodate up to 13.1 million passengers annually.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the terminal in December last year. Covering an area of 140,000 square metres, the new terminal is geared up to serve a capacity of 13.1 million passengers each year.

During the inauguration of the new terminal building at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, PM Modi referred to the event as a "festival of development" for Assam and the Northeast, emphasising that the region is emerging as the new gateway to India’s future growth.
In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted that modern airports and enhanced connectivity serve as entry points to new opportunities, fostering public confidence and opening up new economic avenues for any state.
PM Modi further described the terminal's inauguration as a significant milestone in Assam's development journey, stressing the steady progress achieved under the current governments at both the Centre and state levels. He congratulated the people of Assam and the nation on the completion of the new terminal building.
