The Meteorological Department has forecast fresh light snowfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday, February 18. According to officials, the upper areas of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu and Chamba districts are likely to witness light snowfall over the next 24 hours.
While high-altitude regions may see snow activity, the weather is expected to remain clear and sunny in the plains and mid-hill areas of the state. From February 19 to 23, conditions are likely to stay dry across Himachal Pradesh, with a gradual rise in temperatures during the period.
The state’s average minimum temperature is currently around 2 degrees Celsius above normal. Over the past 24 hours, it has increased by 0.6 degrees Celsius. Although cloudy skies and cold winds persisted on Tuesday, sunshine during the day brought some relief from the chill.
However, intense cold conditions continue in the tribal district of Lahaul-Spiti. Kukumseri recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state at minus 8.2 degrees Celsius, while Tabo registered minus 7.2 degrees Celsius, keeping the region in a deep freeze.
