Voter ID Card Update: The Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer, Navdeep Rinwa, on Tuesday stated that linking a mobile number to the Voter ID or Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) is now a mandatory step for voters to access the e-EPIC and its associated benefits. Voters can link their mobile number to Voter ID or Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) through a quick and hassle-free process.

By linking a phone number to the Voter ID, citizens will be able to view where and how to vote without visiting any physical office, ensuring constant access to all services provided by the Election Commission of India (ECI), Jagran.com reported.

How To Link Mobile Number With Voter ID Online?

Voters can link their mobile number to their Voter ID or EPIC by submitting Form 8 through the National Voters' Service Portal (NVSP) or the Voter Helpline App.

Step 1: Visit the National Voters Service portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in.

Step 2: Click "Sign Up" if you are a new user. Enter your mobile number and email, then verify them using the OTPs sent to both.

Step 3: Now, log in to the portal using your registered mobile number and password or OTP.

Step 4: Select "Fill Form 8" and choose "Correction of Entries in Existing Electoral Roll" to make changes in your personal information.

Step 5: Select your state, district, and assembly constituency, then enter your EPIC number.

Step 6: Review your voter details, which will appear automatically on the screen and go to the Contact Details section.

Step 7: Enter your new mobile number (and email if preferred). Aadhaar details are optional, and upload documents only if asked.

Step 8: Submit the declaration, enter the captcha, click "Send OTP," verify it, and submit the form. You will receive a reference number. Save it to track the status of your request online.

Offline Support Available

- If you are not comfortable with online processes, you can visit the local Booth Level Officer (BLO) or Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) to link mobile numbers to Voter ID.
