An auto driver named Azhar had earlier reportedly died by suicide at Pahadishareef in the house of one of the transgender victims. His family members had alleged that he was murdered. This double murder of the transgender persons is linked to that case, Siasat Daily reported taking inputs from local media. However, an IANS report in this matter quoted Hyderabad Southwest’s Deputy Commissioner of Police Kiran Khare saying the reason behind the murders seemed to be “illegitimate intimacy”.
“The probe is going on. So far we don’t have evidence against anyone to connect them with murder. All angles will be probed to find out the exact reason,” Khare was quoted saying by Siasat Daily. The Deputy Commissioner of Police also visitd the crime scene and told reporters that a case has been registered. Some people have also been taken into custody, he said. The police have also recovered the knifes that were used for the murders, NDTV reported.
The assailant did not belong to the transgender community, Khare was quoted saying by NDTV.
The two bodies have been sent to the mortuary where their postmortem examination will be conducted. The case has been registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code by Tappachabutra Police.
In a separate double murder case, two men sleeping on a footpath were bludgeoned to death by unidentified persons in the Kattedan area under the limits of Mailardevpally police station. Police shifted the bodies in both the cases for autopsy and launched an investigation.
