India-Pakistan Tension Live Updates: Armed Forces Say Few Pak Jets Downed During Op; DGMO Level Talks Between Both Sides Tomorrow

During a media briefing on Operation Sindoor, DGMO Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai stated that Indian forces had eliminated over 100 terrorists in precision strikes. He emphasised that the action was a necessary and powerful response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives.

The turning point came with India’s air strikes on 9th and 10th May, described as a 'hell fire.' Following talks between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Pakistan's Army Chief, Pakistan expressed willingness to engage in dialogue, but India insisted it should be between DGMOs, ANI quoted citing sources.

ANI, quoting sources, reports that Pakistan’s Nur Khan Air Force Base in Chaklala was severely hit during the strikes.

While speaking in a ceremony on Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the might of the Indian forces “was felt at the Pakistani Army headquarters in Rawalpindi”, reported PTI.

"The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully executed its assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor, with precision and professionalism. Operations were conducted in a deliberate and discreet manner, aligned with National Objectives.

Since the Operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday chaired a meeting at 7, LKM. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, EAM S Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval, CDS, Chiefs of all three services were present in the meeting too. 

US President Donald Trump, in a post on Truth Social, stated that he can help India and Pakistan to solve the Kashmir issue.

Situation seems normal this morning in Uri, Baramulla, reported ANI. No drones, firing, or shelling were reported overnight, it added.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said that the escalation was getting out of control, adding that peace is necessary for India. He also stated that India has taught terrorists a lesson.

"We had reached a stage where the escalation was needlessly getting out of control. Peace is necessary for us. The truth is that the circumstances of 1971 are not the circumstances of 2025. There are differences... This was not a war that we intended to continue. We just wanted to teach terrorists a lesson, and that lesson has been taught. I'm sure the government will continue trying to identify and track the specific individuals who did the horrors of Pahalgam," Throor was quoted as saying by ANI.

No drones, firing or shelling was reported during the night in Pathankot, Rajouri, and other cities of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir reported ANI. 

The situation in Jammu city remained normal on Sunday, a day after intense shelling from Pakistan heightened tensions with India. No drones, firing and shelling were reported during the intervening night of May 10-11. The situation was also normal in Poonch area after no drones, firing and shelling were reported during the night.

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Amritsar District Collector issued a red alert, urging residents to stay indoors and away from windows. In a statement issued on Sunday, the District Collector said, "We have restored power supply for your convenience, but we are still on red alert. Sirens will sound now, indicating this red alert. Please don't move out of your house; stay indoors and away from windows. We will be informing you when we get the green signal. Please ensure compliance and please don't panic."

According to the new agency ANI, the situation seemed to be normal in Akhnoor and no drones, firing or shelling was reported during the night.

Amid heightened tensions along the border, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Sunday issued a public advisory urging citizens to stay calm and avoid engaging with unverified claims circulating on social media. In a statement posted on the official account of the Information and Public Relations Department, J&K on X, the government said, "The Government of Jammu & Kashmir appreciates all its citizens for their continued resilience and trust in the face of recent developments. All the necessary measures are being taken, and the government is fully prepared and equipped to handle any situation, and there is no cause for alarm."

The Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar issued a statement requesting the residents to keep calm, as a blackout has been enforced as a precautionary measure. "Due to recent news in the media and as a precautionary measure, we are turning off street lights in some parts of Jalandhar. Blackout is not called at this time. Plz be calm as Jalandhar is unaffected at this point of time," the statement reads

Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) on Sunday said that operations are proceeding smoothly at the Delhi Airport.

A scheduled emergency blackout drill was conducted at Pune Airport on Saturday from 8:25pm to 8:45pm. The drill aimed to test the airport's preparedness and response to potential power outages or other emergencies. The drill started with all lights and power systems shut off. Airport staff and emergency responders implemented emergency procedures. Incoming flights were instructed to hover for 20-30 minutes. Regular announcements were made during the drill to keep passengers informed and calm.  

DG BSF and all ranks on Sunday paid tribute to BSF Sub-Inspector Md Imteyaz after he lost his life during cross-border firing by Pakistan along the International Boundary in the RS Pura area of Jammu.

Indian Army's White Knight Corps said a jawan was injured after an alert sentry at Nagrota Military Station thwarted a possible intrusion with timely action. The action by the jawan triggered a brief exchange of fire, in which he sustained minor injuries

With India and Pakistan agreeing to an immediate ceasefire, the Congress on Saturday sought a Prime Minister Narendra Modi-chaired all-party meeting to take political parties into confidence, while its leaders recalled former prime minister Indira Gandhi's strong leadership during the 1971 war. The opposition party demanded that the government call a special session of Parliament and raised questions over the US's role in the ceasefire.

A soldier was killed when he was hit by a fragment of a Pakistani drone, which was successfully intercepted by the Army Air Defence at an air base in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district on Saturday.

India and Pakistan would be committed to a ceasefire and look forward to restoring regional peace and stability as soon as possible."

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri held a late night press briefing where called upon Pakistan to take appropriate measures to address violations of agreement on ending military aggression. The MEA asks Pakistan to deal with the situation with "seriousness and responsibility".

"For the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding arrived at earlier this evening between the Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan," says Misri..

"This is a breach of the understanding arrived at earlier today," he says.

"The armed forces are giving an adequate and appropriate response to these violations and we take very very serious note of these violations," he says.

Pakistan broke bilateral agreement on ceasefire, says MEA in a press briefing after Pak drones cover skies over Indian border states.

Security forces reportedly carry out a search operation in Nagrota, Jammu and Kashmir, after a firing incident at an Army unit. As per news agency ANI, which reports citing Army sources, some suspicious movement was detected. But there has been no further contact after initial engagement and further investigations are on in the incident. More details are awaited.

Several cities, including Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, Ferozepur and Bathinda in Punjab lifted blackout orders and restored electricity. The residents were however asked to keep lights off.

Gujarat Minister Harsh Sanghvi on Saturday said that several drones have been spotted in the Kutch district. "A complete blackout will be implemented now. Please stay safe, Don’t panic," he said.

Amritsar District Commissioner says, "A siren will sound shortly and thereafter we shall implement the blackout. This is by way of abundant precaution. Please stay indoors and away from windows. Please don't panic."

A complete blackout has been enforced in several Rajasthan cities, including Barmer and Jaisalmer, amid reports of a drone attack in Jammu, Srinagar and Udhampur. 

In view of the change in circumstances, all members of the public are requested to stay indoor. Blackout has been declared in the Bathinda district. There is no major cause for worry but black out must be ensured as a matter of abundant caution.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Satrday shared a video of Indian Air Defence Systems intercepting Pakistani drones in Srinagar. "This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up," he wrote.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh says, "Over the past few days, as we have seen, Pakistan has suffered very heavy and unsustainable losses after it has given us an unprovoked attack on our installations. It has suffered losses in both land and air. There has been an extensive damage to the crucial Pakistani air bases- Skardu, Jacobabad and Bholari. In addition, a loss of AD weapon system and radar made the defence of Pakistani airspace untenable. Across the Line of Control, extensive and precise damage to military infrastructure, command control centres, and logistic installations, in addition to that, two military personnel had led to a complete breakdown of its defensive and offensive capability and also Pakistani morale."

Commodore Raghu R Nair says, "While we will be adhering to the understanding that is the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force, we remain fully prepared and vigilant and committed to defending the sovereignty and integrity of the motherland. Every misadventure by Pakistan has been met with strength. Every future escalation will invite a decisive response. We remain fully operationally ready to launch whatever operations may be required in defence of the nation"

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri says, "Pakistan's Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) called Indian DGMO at 15:35 hours earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea with effect from 1700 hours Indian Standard Time. Today, instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding. The Directors General of Military Operations will talk again on the 12th of May at 1200 hours."

"I welcome the ceasefire. If it had happened 2-3 days ago, the lives we lost would not have been lost. Pakistan's DGMO called our DGMO and the ceasefire was implemented. It is the responsibility of the current J&K government to assess wherever the damage has been done and start providing relief to the people. Wherever people are injured, they should get proper treatment and also get relief under the government scheme. The fire has caused a lot of damage...DCs have been instructed to immediately do a final assessment of the damage and send that assessment to us so that we can start providing relief to these houses. Also, our airport has been closed for many days, we hope that the airport will reopen after the ceasefire," said Omar Abdullah

US President Donald Trump says, "After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire..."

Loitering munition fired by Pakistan was destroyed by the bomb disposal squad of security forces and NSG (National Security Guard). This drone was found in a village near Jammu.

India has decided that any future act of terror will be considered an Act of War against India and will be responded to accordingly.

Eight BSF personnel Injured In Paksitan Army Shelling In Jammu's RS Pura.

Those who got injured in Ferozepur incident (family of 3 injured in Pakistan drone attack), have been admitted to the hospital. Minister Cheema has gone there. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting with the top defence establishment to take stock of the emerging security situation amid the intensifying military conflict with Pakistan. PM Modi met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the three service chiefs and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan to review the security scenario and chalk out strategies for the future course of action.

Amid the Pakistan army's continuous targeting of civilian infrastructure in India, a Turkish Kamikaze drone was recovered in a village in Naushera area of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. According to an Indian official, Pakistan attempted drone intrusions at many locations of India's western border, and these drones were possibly of Turkish origin, likely to test Indian air defences. Meanwhile, Byker YIHA III Kamikaze drones were recovered in Punjab's Amritsar, which were launched by Pakistan in the early hours of Saturday, as per defence officials.

Himachal Pradesh: Hollowed ground in Damtal village of Kangra district, located near Pathankot in Punjab, where debris of a projectile has been found. Police say, "A while ago, a blast was heard here. Following that, we reached here. We have secured the area. Experts would be able to say what this is."

The Ludhiana district administration on Saturday issued a Red Alert across the district, owing to the continuous missile and drone attacks by Pakistan.
