Jagran Correspondent | Sonipat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India's first-ever hydrogen train on Friday at Haryana's Jind at 11 am. The hydrogen power cell designed to run between Jind and Sonipat is a 10-coach train and is among the world’s longest and most powerful hydrogen-fuelled passenger train sets, powered by a 3,200-horsepower (HP) propulsion system.

The train will serve 14 stations. The indigenously designed train will generate its own electricity onboard via chemical reaction between hydrogen and atmospheric oxygen, leaving behind water vapour.

During the inaugural journey, two coaches of the train will be reserved for senior railway officials, experts, and special guests, while the remaining coaches will carry a total of 1,000 students, including 200 students each from five stations.

These stations include Pandu Pindara, Gohana, Lath, Mohana, and Sonipat. The train will operate as services 74010 and 74009. During regular operations, the train will depart Jind daily at 7:40 am and arrive in Sonipat at 9:40 am. On its return journey, it will depart Sonipat at 10:30 am and arrive in Jind at 1 pm. The train will run six days a week. The maximum speed of the train will be 75 kmph.

Upon departing from Jind Junction, the train will reach Sonipat Junction via Jind City, Pandu Pindara, Lalit Kheda, Bhambheva, Ishapur Kheri, Butana, Khandrai, Gohana, Rabhra, Lath, Mohana, and Badwasni. On the return journey, the train will stop at all stations in the same sequence.

Regular passenger service resumes on July 17th for the return journey from Sonipat. Maximum fare from Sonipat to Jind is only Rs 25.

Pauses at 14 stations, providing direct benefit to daily commuters.

The journey begins at Jind Junction, where the train departs at 10:50.

It arrives at Jind City at 11:07 and departs a minute later at 11:08.

The train reaches Pandu Pindara at 11:15 and leaves at 11:16.

It then pulls into Lalit Kheda at 11:28 and departs at 11:29.

Next, it stops at Bhambheva, arriving at 11:38 and departing at 11:39.

It arrives at Ishapur Khedi at 11:45 and departs at 11:46.

The train reaches Butana at 11:52 and leaves at 11:53.

At 12:00, it arrives at Khandrai and departs at 12:01.

It then makes a stop at Gohana, arriving at 12:08 and departing at 12:09.

The train reaches Rabda at 12:17 and departs at 12:18.

It arrives at Stick at 12:26 and leaves at 12:27.

It pulls into Mohana at 12:35 and departs at 12:36.

The final intermediate stop is Barwasni, where it arrives at 12:46 and departs at 12:47.

Finally, the train reaches its destination, Sonipat, at 13:00.

Check Train Fares

The fare to Sonipat is Rs 10 if you board from Barwasni, Mohana, Stick, Rabda, or Gohana.

If you are travelling from Khandrai or Butana, the ticket fare is Rs 15.

The fare increases to Rs 20 when boarding from Ishapur Khedi, Bhambheva, or Lalit Kheda.

Finally, the fare is Rs 25 if you take the train from Pandu Pindara, Jind City, or Jind Junction.
