India has recently slammed Pakistan at the United Nations for hosting and training terrorists after Islamabad raised the issue of Jammu and Kashmir at the forum. Anupama Singh, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations, called Pakistan a "Frankenstein state" which gets shocked when its "monster bites back". While exercising the right of reply during the interactive dialogue on the UN High Commissioner's annual report, Singh suggested Islamabad reflect upon its internal issues.
She asserted that Jammu and Kashmir is and will remain an integral part of India, further pointing out the illegal occupation of Indian territory by Pakistan in the region. "For the record, Jammu and Kashmir was, is, and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of India. The only unresolved issue is Pakistan's illegal occupation of Indian territories and their return," she said on Wednesday.

While highlighting the oppression of thousands in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, Singh stated that the recent happenings were due to the illegal and forceful occupation of the region. "The ongoing tragedy in Rawalakot, the killing of hundreds of civilians, and the brutal crackdown across Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir are the predictable outcome of a system built on forcible occupation and sustained through repression," Singh highlighted.
She further stated that the people in the PoK are being assaulted for the basic demands of basic human rights, bread and electricity. "Decades of military land grabs, demographic engineering, and the denial of basic freedoms have brought matters to a point where even demands for bread, electricity, rights, and dignity are met with bullets and brutality. This should surprise no one. An illegal and illegitimate occupation can be sustained only through force," Singh said.
While addressing the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan, Singh highlighted that the nation sponsoring terrorism has no right to expect goodwill and friendship in return.
