The Indian cybersecurity sector successfully repelled numerous cyberattack attempts, including a peak of 16 lakh Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks per minute, on the G20 portal during the summit, according to revelations made by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) CEO Rajesh Kumar during the annual conference.

The I4C, established by the Ministry of Home Affairs, played a crucial role in coordinating efforts with multiple Indian agencies to thwart these attacks and ensure the safety of the G20 website.

Kumar, addressing concerns about non-national foreign threat actors, mentioned their operations through Virtual Private Network (VPN), with attempts traced back to China, Cambodia, and Malaysia. However, pinpointing the exact location becomes challenging due to VPN networks disguising the hackers' true identity.
