IndiGo Flight Status Today LIVE: DGCA Orders Checks At 11 Airports; Chairman Apologises, Says ‘We Fell Short’

IndiGo Flight Cancellations Today Live Updates: The Delhi High Court, hearing a petition filed on the ongoing IndiGo flight cancellation crisis, posed tough questions to the Centre as well as the other airlines. The high court asked the Centre why the situation precipitated while it slammed the other airlines for "taking advantage" of the situation to charge exorbitant rates from stranded passengers. Flight disruptions entered their ninth straight day on Wednesday, with Bengaluru reporting the cancellation of 35 arriving and 26 departing IndiGo flights. At Ahmedabad airport, 10 departing flights were also cancelled, leaving passengers stranded this morning. More than 4,600 IndiGo flights have been cancelled over the past eight days.

The government on Tuesday ordered IndiGo to reduce its operations by 5 per cent, later increasing the cut to 10 per cent as disruptions continued. The crisis, which began on December 2 and intensified over the following days, has now stretched into its ninth day as of Wednesday.

Reasons Behind IndiGo Flight Cancellations

This week, IndiGo has struggled to keep its flight schedules on track. While technical glitches and operational issues played a role, the main hurdle has been managing pilot deployment. Recent regulations under the Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) restrict the number of hours pilots and crew can operate. As a result, airlines require additional staff, causing adjustments in schedules and widespread flight cancellations.
