Jagran Correspondent, Chandigarh: Air travellers in the Tricity (area encompassing Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula) received another major boost after IndiGo launched its second direct flight between Chandigarh and Jewar’s Noida International Airport.

This additional flight will operate every Monday and Tuesday. Previously, the airline operated one regular daily direct flight between the two cities. The new additional service will provide passengers with more options and make travel more convenient.

Under the new additional service, flights will depart from Noida International Airport on Mondays and Tuesdays at 9:55 am and arrive in Chandigarh at 10:55 a.m. On the return journey, the same flight will depart Chandigarh at 12:20 pm and arrive in Noida at 1:35 pm.

This approximately one-hour air journey will save passengers considerable time and provide relief from long road journeys. Previously launched as a daily service, IndiGo's flight departs Noida at 6:10 am and arrives in Chandigarh at 7:10 am.

The return flight departs Chandigarh at 7:30 am and arrives in Noida at 8:35 am. The addition of the additional flight has further strengthened air connectivity between the two cities.

Which Cities Will Benefit The Most?

The air service will most benefit travellers from Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula, as well as Noida, Greater Noida, the Yamuna Expressway region, and western Uttar Pradesh.

Business people, industrialists, students, working professionals, and tourists will now be able to plan their travels with greater convenience.

Airport officials believe that Noida International Airport is being developed as a major aviation hub in the country. Directly connecting Chandigarh to this airport will provide a new impetus to regional air connectivity.

Additionally, Tricity travellers will be less dependent on Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. The new flight service is expected to make travel to Delhi-NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh faster, easier, and more convenient than before.
