The alleged encounter of Bharat Tiwari in Bhojpur, Bihar, has attracted nationwide attention. While Bharat Tiwari's family, supporters, and several opposition leaders have described the incident as a murder, the police maintain a different version of events.
In relation to the case, the mother of Bharat Tiwari, Asha Tiwari, had stated that her son was not killed in an encounter but had been killed in a planned murder by the administration. She said that Bharat had always been involved in social work and also knew about an alleged scam of Rs 1,400 crore by an SDM, due to which Bharat Tiwari had been killed.
"It was not an encounter but a murder by the Administration because he was engaged in social service. He knew about the Rs 1400 crore corruption, and this is why he was murdered. We have faith in the court to get justice. We demand the death penalty for the accused," ANI quoted Asha Tiwari.

The deceased's mother stated that she trusts the judicial system and hoped that justice would be served by the court. She sought the death penalty for persons convicted in her son's death.
Asha Tiwari alleged that the funds were sanctioned for the upliftment of Jawaniya village, which included house building work and soil filling for needy families, but were instead misappropriated.
Bharat’s mother said that she has been receiving death threats and threats to wipe out her family through social media, but the government is not taking any action or carrying out encounters.
Meanwhile, Bharat Tiwari's brother, Chandan Tiwari, said that the administration is trying to suppress the case (Bharat Tiwari encounter case). He claimed that the investigation is not being conducted fairly and alleged that although an FIR has been registered, no hearing has taken place so far.
