Amid bone-chilling cold and heavy snow, Indian Army soldiers are on high alert Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, maintaining round-the-clock vigil along the Line of Control (LoC) to thwart any nefarious attempts from across the border as India celebrates its 77th Republic Day today, commemorating the adoption of the Constitution, which came into force on January 26, 1950. Amidst the challenging weather in Poonch, the army has increased patrols to ensure that terrorists cannot infiltrate and that Republic Day celebrations are held in a peaceful manner.
Intelligence reports indicate that terrorists are poised to infiltrate from various launch pads across the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Consequently, troops in the district are on high alert, jagran.com reported.

Indian Army soldiers are monitoring enemy movements amid the snow-capped mountains. Despite challenging weather, the Indian Army has doubled patrols along the Line of Control to ensure security in the region.
To ensure a peaceful and safe environment for the Republic Day celebrations, drones are also being used for surveillance. This step has been taken after receiving intelligence inputs warning of possible terrorist attacks and infiltration attempts along the Line of Control.

According to information received from sources, terrorists attempting to infiltrate from launching pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) across the Line of Control have changed their infiltration strategy. Earlier, terrorists sitting in Pakistan used to try to infiltrate before snowfall.
However, terrorist tactics have changed in the last few years. Now, terrorists are increasingly looking to infiltrate during snowfall, while reports of the presence of terrorists in terrorist camps across the border in PoK continue to emerge. Consequently, vigilance has been heightened, and patrols along the Line of Control have been increased to monitor enemy movements.
