Jharkhand Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Jharkhand are likely to witness a sharp drop in temperature in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that most of the districts are set to experience a cold wave and dense fog, especially in the morning hours. The minimum temperature in several districts remained below 5 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Apart from affecting the flight and train services, the presence of dense fog has also led to inconveniences for the daily commuters. The weather department has advised the commuters to limit their outings in the morning and evening hours to avoid inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Ranchi, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Gumla, Bokaro, Khunti, Palamu, Chatra, Garhwa, and Latehar, have been witnessing a cold wave for the past few days. It further stated that the minimum in these districts is further likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the presence of dense fog has led to inconvenience to the commuters and has also affected the train and flight services.
While the maximum temperature of the state was recorded in Chaibasa district at 27.4 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature remained below 2 degrees Celsius in McCluskieganj. Apart from this, the maximum and minimum temperatures in the capital city Ranchi were recorded at 20.6 degrees Celsius and 7.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The IMD stated that the central and northwestern parts of the state, including Palamu, Chatra, Garhwa, and Latehar, are set to witness a cold wave and dense fog on December 28. It further stated that no significant change in minimum temperatures is expected during the next 24 hours. However, the temperature is likely to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next two to three days, providing some relief.
