LPG Cylinder Price India: Chaos was witnessed in Delhi after the government’s 25-day rule for LPG refill booking came into effect on Tuesday following the invoking of the Essential Commodities Act (EC Act) to stabilise the domestic energy market amid mounting global supply pressures. The Petroleum Ministry issued a control order directing refineries and petrochemical units to maximise the production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and divert key hydrocarbon streams to the LPG pool to maintain a steady supply of cooking gas across the country.
25-Day Rule
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has increased the minimum waiting period for booking a domestic LPG cylinder refill to 25 days. Earlier, the gap was 21 days. The move comes to prevent hoarding and ensure equitable distribution, according to news agency PTI.

Black Market Of LPG
Amid the situation, an illegal market has begun to expand rapidly. Domestic gas cylinders that carry an official price of around Rs 1,100 are reportedly being sold through black-market channels at prices reaching nearly Rs 2,000, Zee news reported.
Delhi-NCR Restaurants Hit
The commercial industries relying heavily on PNG, including hotels, restaurants, catering units, and manufacturing units, are facing problems due to the latest order. The consumers and commercial establishments in Delhi-NC are also dependent on commercial cylinder-based services. As per reports, the latest order has begun troubling over 35,000 MSME units in Noida, including over four hundred thousand PNG connection holders.
Absolutely No shortage Of Fuel: Piyush Goyal
Union Minister Piyush Goyal assured that India is not facing any fuel shortage despite the growing uncertainty in global energy markets due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
"There is absolutely no shortage of fuel. More details are being worked out. A serious war is going on... In this situation, there will be concerns that will be made known to everybody from time to time by the relevant departments... They are monitoring the situation very closely," Union Minister Piyush Goyal said.
