Former Deputy Mayor's Son Dies After Tree Falls on Bike
Former Deputy Mayor Ashok Patil’s 35-year-old son, Rahul Patil, died on Thursday as a huge coconut tree fell on his motorcycle in Rai village of Mira-Bhayander town in Thane district following heavy rains.
According to police sources, on Thursday evening, the accident occurred in the Sadananda Nagar locality where Rahul Patil was going on his motorcycle; a coconut tree in the vicinity of the road fell on his motorcycle and crushed him under it.
Locals rushed to his rescue, freed him from under the fallen tree, and rushed him to the nearest hospital. He remained in the intensive care unit (ICU) for two days and later died of his injuries.
11-Year-Old Killed After Tree Falls on School Bus
A few days ago, an 11-year-old boy died, and four other students sustained injuries when a tree fell on a school bus in Mumbai's Chembur. The incident took place on Road No 11 where the tree hit a Universal School bus carrying 13 students. The deceased was identified as Vihaan Srivastava.

In another rain-related accident, 17-year-old Alia Chandiwala died due to electrocution in Thane on Wednesday, as police officials confirmed she was electrocuted due to waterlogged streets following heavy rains.
Man Dies After Falling Into Open Manhole
A 55-year-old man identified as Aslam Isaf Shaikh died on Thursday at 12.30 pm after he fell into an open manhole on Khairani Road in Mumbai. He was rushed to Rajawadi Hospital but was pronounced dead.
