The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Monday lapped up a gaffe made by the Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge where the latter said “leaders like Rahul Gandhi laid their lives for the country”. However, Kharge corrected his mistake soon after he was alerted by someone from behind. “I apologise. I mistakenly said Rahul Gandhi…Rajiv Gandhi gave his life for the nation’s unity. Congress has leaders who gave their life for the nation while the BJP has leaders who take lives,” he said.

The saffron party swiftly shared the clip on their social media platform to troll the grand old party over Kharge’s faux pas.

“Ye kab hua (when did that happen),” the post reads.

Maybe the Congress chief swiftly corrected his mistake, but social media is in no mood to let go of the issue. BJP leaders are sharing a plethora of memes over Kharge’s gaffe.
