Mumbai Crime News: In a tragic incident, a 22-year-old man was stabbed to death by an unidentified individual in a Mumbai local train over an argument. As per the officials, the incident occurred between Andheri and Borivali when Mayank Lohar, the victim, was travelling after finishing his shift as a salesman. The victim got assaulted after getting involved in an argument over closing the door during the heavy rain.

Accused Still Absconding 

The accused allegedly stabbed Lohar in the stomach during the argument, leading to serious injuries. The Railway Protection Force arrived at the site and provided first aid to the victim after the train arrived at Borivali station. However, the accused had already fled the coach before the train could fully stop at the station, reported Jagran.

The victim was immediately taken to the emergency medical room at Borivali station, where the doctors examined him. Lohar was later taken to the Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali following the doctor's advice; however, he was declared dead.

"As soon as the train arrived at Borivali station, Western Railway staff responded immediately. RPF and GRP personnel reached the coach within minutes and provided medical assistance and evacuation without delay," Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Vineet Abhishek said.

'Victim Was Taken To Hospital'

"The injured passenger was immediately taken to the emergency medical room for treatment and, on the doctor's advice, was immediately transferred to Shatabdi Hospital by ambulance," he added. Abhishek further stated that the CCTV footage and other evidence have been given to the probe team.

Evidence Handed Over To Agencies 

"Senior officers monitored the situation throughout the night. CCTV footage and other evidence were preserved and handed over to investigating agencies. Our priority was to ensure that the injured passenger received medical help as quickly as possible," he added. The GRP stated that a probe has been launched and a search operation is underway to catch the accused, who is still absconding.
