Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project: A new milestone has been reached in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad in regards to the ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. The highly complex task of launching the viaduct for the high-speed rail corridor over the Kalupur flyover, considered the busiest in Ahmedabad city, has been successfully completed. This new segmental bridge has been prepared parallel to this over bridge (ROB) on the Sabarmati-Mumbai main railway line of Western Railway, the launching of which was completed on May 25, Jagran Gujarati reported.

Kalupur Flyover is a very important two-lane bridge connecting major areas of Ahmedabad like Shahibaug, Asarwa and Kalupur. Thousands of vehicles pass through this flyover every day. Special planning was done to avoid any major inconvenience to the local people and traffic.
Permission was obtained from the Ahmedabad Traffic Department for a night traffic block from May 22 to May 25, 2026. Under this, the bridge's access roads were completely closed only from 12:00 am to 06:00 am. In this limited period of just three nights, all the technical processes like auto-launching, segment transportation, span erection, dry matching and gluing were completed. During the day, traffic continued as usual.
Adequate precautions were taken for the safety of passengers during the operation. Barricading, traffic diversion boards, advance public notices and adequate lighting at night were arranged in the entire area. In addition, traffic marshals were also deployed day and night to guide motorists.

Project Progress In Ahmedabad
The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor passes through a total of 31 different important crossings in Ahmedabad district alone. These include:
-8 Indian Railway Crossing
-16 Road Flyovers, Common Roads, Underpasses and Canal Crossings
-1 Bridge over Sabarmati River
-6 Steel Bridge
It is a matter of relief that out of these 31 crossings, 23 crossings have been successfully completed so far and work on the remaining parts is also progressing rapidly. With the success of this Kalupur Bridge, the Bullet Train project is now moving rapidly towards its next phase.
