Jagran Correspondent, Rewari: Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh has written to the Union Finance Department requesting approval to extend the Namo Bharat RRTS corridor up to Behror in Rajasthan during its initial construction phase.

He said that while the Urban Development Ministry originally planned the route from Sarai Kale Khan via Gurugram and Bawal to Neemrana-Behror, it was later shortened to Dharuhera and Bawal.

Singh noted that after the project was limited to Dharuhera and Bawal, local residents and social organisations in Rajasthan demanded restoring the route to Behror. Consequently, a proposal seeking financial approval for the extension was submitted in July.

Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor: Key Details Of Proposed Extension To Behror

According to a report by Jagran.com, the proposed Bawal-Behror extension of the Namo Bharat RRTS will cover 36 kilometres, including 11 km in Haryana and 25 km in Rajasthan. The new stretch will feature four stations. The journey will take about 24 minutes. According to Rao, the extension will increase the project's total cost by an estimated Rs 8,000 crore.

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has submitted a comprehensive report for four new Namo Bharat corridors to strengthen rail connectivity across Delhi-NCR, the Rajya Sabha confirmed on Monday. On this, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu said that reports have been prepared for the Delhi-Karnal, Delhi-Bawal, Bawal-Behrod, and Ghaziabad-Noida International Airport Corridors, respectively.

Union Minister Sahu claimed that the NCR Planning Board has identified eight Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridors between major cities of the NCR in its Functional Plan on Transport for NCR-2032. The eight proposed corridors include Delhi-Gurugram-Rewari-Alwar, Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut, Delhi-Sonipat-Panipat, Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Palwal, Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak, Delhi-Shahdara-Baraut, Ghaziabad-Khurja, and Ghaziabad-Hapur.
