The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) made history by winning all six posts in the student elections at Kerala’s Tripunithura Government Sanskrit College, bringing an end to decades of Student Federation of India (SFI) rule.This victory marks a significant political shift, breaking the SFI's 40-year hold on the campus. It follows the BJP's recent success in taking charge of the Tripunithura municipality, which ended 45 years of left-led local governance.
The ABVP said that the victory was the outcome of what it called the SFI's "anti-student policies" for the past years. A representative of the ABVP said the win at this college would act as a major boost for the party in colleges within Kerala.
The representative also accused previous SFI-led unions of failing to promote Sanskrit, raised questions over how funds collected from students had been used, and alleged that enough student programmes had not been organised during the SFI's tenure.

Snigdha M Hari was elected Chairperson, while Aditya T A won the Vice-Chairperson's post. Vignesh Bhatt was elected General Secretary, Vignesh D became Magazine Editor, and Anjali T was elected Arts Club Secretary.
Nivedya K N won the post of University Union Councillor, while Shivani R and Avani C B were elected Second UG Representative and Second PG Representative, respectively.
