Bengaluru Crime News: In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 40-year-old man from Bihar killed his wife over a small family dispute. As per the officials, the accused turned violent and attacked his wife after she failed to answer his phone calls. Ranjit, the accused, poured hot cooking oil on his wife's face upon strangling her allegedly to stage the incident as a suicide case.
'Strangled His Wife To Death'
As per the reports, Ranjit got involved in a heated argument with Gunja Maddheshiya, his wife over a family issue. While he left for the office after the brief argument, he returned at around 9.30 am and scolded his wife for not answering his calls. "He assaulted and killed her...Ranjit sat behind her on the floor, put a dupatta around her neck, and strangled her to death," a senior officer was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
However, he returned at around 3 pm and poured hot cooking oil at the victim's face allegedly to disfigure her and left for office. Upon returning from office in the late evening hours, the accused tried to mislead the neighbours by acting shocked. He told them that Maddheshiya committed suicide while he was in the office and their two children were in school.
Accused Tried To Mislead Officials
He conveyed the same message to the police at around 8 pm; however, the police questioned him upon noticing inconsistency in his statements. The suspicion heightened after the room owner told police officials about their frequent fights. Ranjit, during the questioning, accepted killing his wife, adding that he was frustrated over her non-response on the phone calls.
The officials stated that both of their children have been sent to stay with their relatives, adding that the accused has been taken into custody for further questioning.
