Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper: The Vande Bharat sleeper train between Mumbai and Bengaluru is reportedly set to begin operations after Dusshera. As per the authorities, the train will cover the total distance in around 15 hours, providing a major relief to the passengers. The train is expected to operate in the non-peak hours to ensure that the current services run as per the existing schedule.
Train To Run In Evening Hours
The sleeper train is expected to begin its journey from Mumbai in the evening hours to ensure that the local trains operate on time. However, there has been no public announcement regarding the frequency, reported Hindustan Times, citing the officials. The authorities have reportedly contacted the food chains to supply food, especially the local cuisines, on this train.
"We are in talks with leading chefs, cloud kitchens and cooking partners who work alongside four and five star hotels to supply food on trains. We are also finalising local cuisines from the two states which will be included in the menu," an official from the IRCTC was quoted as saying by HT.
Train To Operate Six Days A Week
The officials have informed the railways that the sleeper train cannot be operated in the peak hours as it will affect the operation of the local trains in Mumbai. "We have informed the Railway Board that the Vande Bharat sleeper train cannot be operated during peak hours, else it will severely affect the operation of local trains," another official said.
The reports suggest that except on Mondays, the sleeper train will operate on all the remaining days of week from Bengaluru. The train will operate six days a week from Mumbai, except on Tuesdays, the reports added. The train number 27652 is likely to depart from Bengaluru at 10 pm and arrive Mumbai at 1.50 pm the next day. In the return journey, train 27651 might depart from Mumbai at 10:30 pm and arrive in Bengaluru at 2:50 pm the next day.
