Bengaluru Namma Metro Update: In a major update for the residents, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is likely to begin the trial run on the underground section of the Pink Line by the end of this year. As per the reports, the metro authority has wrapped up systems installation and the trial run could be scheduled in the coming months. The commuters are eagerly waiting for the inauguration as the section will boost the regional connectivity.

Stretch To Boost Connectivity

The 13.76-km underground line between Dairy Circle and Nagavara is expected to improve the travel experience by cutting the travel time and reducing traffic congestion in the key regions. The officials, while providing details, stated that the installation works have been finished at eight stations, adding that the works at the remaining stations is likely to be finished in almost two weeks, reported Deccan Herald.

"Systems work is in advanced stages. Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) works are complete at most stations. Outdoor signalling is complete, while indoor signalling is ongoing. Traction works are also underway," BMRCL Chief Public Relations Officer BL Yashavanth Chavan was quoted as saying by DH.

Trial Runs Likely Soon 

He further stated that further steps will be taken after receiving key approvals from the concerned authorities, adding that the line could be opened for the public use by March 2027. "Our subsequent step will be securing statutory approvals, including rolling stock sanction and the CMRS authorisation. We aim to open the line by March 2027," Chavan stated.

Earlier, the authority stated that the underground stretch will boost the connectivity between the northern and southern parts of the city. The stretch will have a total of 12 stations and will also provide benefits to the IT professionals of Bengaluru. Along with improving the connectivity, the project is also expected to boost the financial activities in these regions.
