In a shocking incident, a mute man was brought back alive to Bihar's Samsatipur four years after his father's complaint led to the arrest and imprisonment of four, raising questions over the police investigation.

In 2022, Ravishankar's father lodged a police complaint alleging kidnapping and murder of his son. He alleged that the body was concealed by the accused. The police registered a case against four named accused.

Yadav named Mukesh Pandit, Sahdev Pandit, Dinesh Pandit and Chotu Mahto in his complaint. He alleged that the former three murdered his son and disposed of the body.

The four accused were arrested and sent to jail. Mahato remained in jail for over three months. The probe by cops is now under question as the accused were imprisoned without recovery or identification of any body. The police also face scrutiny on whether an enquiry was conducted to substantiate the complainant's claims of murder and body disposal or not.
