Chennai Water Cut: In a major update for the residents of Chennai, piped drinking water supply will temporarily be suspended in several regions for 24 hours. While providing details, the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) stated that the water supply will remain disrupted in multiple regions starting from 9 am on October 10. The residents have been advised to stay updated, make necessary arrangements, and plan their days accordingly to avoid inconveniences.

Several Regions To Witness Outage 

While providing details, the authority stated that several regions under the Adyar, Perungudi, and Sholinganallur zones are set to witness disruption over the coming weekend. The authority further stated that several regions of Adyar Zone, including Tiruvanmiyur, Pallipattu, Kottur Gardens, RK Mutt Road, and Indira Nagar Overhead Tank (OHT) will face drinking water outage for 24 hours.

Apart from this, multiple areas of Perungudi and Sholinganallur Zone, including Kottivakkam, Palavakkam, Perungudi, Pallikaranai, Madipakkam, Puzhuthivakkam, ECR Neelankarai, Akkarai, Ezhil Nagar, Kannagi Nagar, Karapakkam, Perumbakkam, Vettuvankeni, Sholinganallur, Semmancheri, and Okkiyam-Thoraipakkam are also expected to witness water outage during the same period of time.

Residents Advised To Make Arrangements 

The CMWSSB has advised the residents of these regions to make necessary arrangements and store sufficient drinking water to avoid inconveniences. However, the authority clarified that water supply through street tanks and mobile tankers to low-pressure areas will continue without disruption.

The authority has advised the residents to book water tankers through the official website using the 'Dial for Water' service.
