CJP Protest: Following the detention of YouTuber and influencer Dhruv Rathee, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, and co-conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained by Delhi Police soon after landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday.
Video Shows Delhi Police Inside Aircraft
A video shared by news agency ANI shows Delhi Police personnel entering the aircraft carrying CJP founder Dipke after it landed at IGI Airport. In the video, Dipke tells the police, “I have come here to be arrested; arrest me.” However, the police personnel responded by saying, “This is not an arrest. Please cooperate.”
The CJP also posted the video on X, stating that its founder, Dipke, and co-conveners Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained by Delhi Police. The detention of CJP leaders comes as the group is scheduled to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar today, for which the permission was denied by the Delhi Police on Friday, citing security and regulatory protocols in the capital. Despite the lack of official clearance, the CJP had earlier maintained that it would move forward with its planned demonstration.
