CJP Protest Jantar Mantar: Ahead of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, the pressure group has alleged that several of its members have been detained across the country. In a post on X, the CJP stated that its senior officer bearer Deepak Baliyan has been put under house arrest by the Rajasthan police. The pressure group further alleged that over 40 police personnel have arrived at his residence in civic dress.

What CJP Has Alleged?

In its post, the CJP stated that the police officials have put Baliyan under house arrest a day before the demonstration in Delhi. The pressure group reiterated that he faced similar situation on Thursday when the police officials allegedly detained him. In its post, the CJP also shared a video of Baliyan in which he claimed that the state police was trying to put pressure on him and his family.

"CJP's National Org Co-Incharge Deepak Baliyan has been placed under house arrest! 40+ police personnel in civil dress are present at his home. After detaining him from his home at night, the Alwar Police have once again arrived at his residence," the Abhijeet Dipke-led group said in its post on X.

ASIF Members Arrested In MP

Earlier on Thursday, 14 women members of the All India Students' Federation (AISF), who were travelling from Pune to participate in the demonstration, were detained by the Madhya Pradesh police at Itarsi railway station. Apart from this, several other protesters were also detained on Friday. 

Abhijeet Dipke, in a separate post, alleged that around 10,000 people have already been detained in different parts of the country. However, he insisted that the demonstration will take place as per the schedule, adding that Gyanesh Kumar must resign to re-install faith in the democratic institutions.

Additional Deployment At Key Sites

The centre has deployed additional personnel at the key sites, including Jantar Mantar and Connaught Place to maintain law and order. Delhi police on Friday clarified that permission for any protest has not been granted, further urging the residents to not participate in any such illegal demonstration.
