CJP Tiranga March LIVE: The Cockroach Janta Party's "Lehra Do Tiranga" protest is scheduled for today at Central Park in Connaught Place, Delhi, at 5 pm. The CJP founder, Abhijeet Dipke, urged all the patriots to gather at Central Park with tricolour after the arrest of co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka for entering Jantar Mantar with tricolour on October 13. For the uninitiated, Jantar Mantar has been officially denotified as a protest site.
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has announced that Central Park will remain closed to the public on October 16 and 17 for "administrative reasons." Ahead of the march, security has been tightened in and around Lutyens’ area. The Delhi police have deployed over 6,000 personnel around key areas including Rajiv Chowk, Connaught Place markets, Central Park, nearby metro stations, Jantar Mantar, and Palika Bazaar. It has also reserved 5000 extra personnel from other districts.
The protest march will be joined by Dipke along with student organisations, activists and the Aam Aadmi Party. The march will begin at 5 PM. According to police, more than 10 CCTV cameras have been installed in and around Central Park and CP ahead of the march.
Meanwhile, in Mumbai, police have permitted CJP to hold its Lehra Do Tiranga demonstration at Azad Maidan.
